http://healthcarenews.com/article.asp?id=2875 SPRINGFIELD — Dr. Carolyn Delk, specializing in minimally invasive surgery and adolescent health, has joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baystate Medical Center. Delk earned her medical degree at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, Calif. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Baystate Medical Center in June. During her four-year residency, she was the recipient of multiple Notable Teaching Citations from Tufts University School of Medicine and served as co-author of “Approach to Health Care for Lesbian and Bisexual Women,” published last year in The Female Patient. Prior to medical school, Delk attended Smith College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and women’s studies. During medical school, she served as a community health worker at the Women’s Choice Clinic in Oakland, Calif. She is board-eligible with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Active in several professional societies, Delk is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Mass. Medical Society, and the Assoc. of Reproductive Health Professionals. Delk sees patients at Baystate Wesson Women’s Group, located at 3300 Main St. in Springfield, providing comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care for women of all ages, including well-women preventive health care, reproductive health counseling and services, and counseling and treatment for menopausal symptoms.
