Hello Bill,

I'm trying to get the death certificate on Laura Smith but am having a hard time.

By the grace of God I called all 3 town clerks offices, of Barnstable, Sandwich and Falmouth. They all said they didn't have it.

One of the town clerks said if it was an "unattended death" then the Medical Examiner in Boston might be the one to do the certificate. 

They said the town clerk might have a "pending certificate"...(whatever town is the right town.)

in Marston Mills. 

I'm thinking maybe she lived in that town. If your source could verify she lived in Sandwich this might help.

One of the clerk's said she could have been taken to either the Falmouth Hospital or Cape Cod Hospital (Hyannis I think).

I'll try and call the funeral home tomorrow and see if I can get anywhere with them.

Also I called the Vital Records Dept in Dorchester and they said they don't get it in until 6 months later.
