Crooks v. Williams -- District of Columbia Court of Appeals, 1986
Patient Maxine Williams sues Dr. Crooks after her baby was born dead at the hospital. The baby went into fetal distress and needed to be delivered by emergency cesarean section during the night. However, Dr. Crooks failed to arrive to the hospital until the following morning when the baby was already dead. The jury awarded $370,000 to Williams' estate. -
