Malpractice History
-
Waterman, Philip -- 1999-03-31 Final Order - 1994-12-19 Complaint
FL Board of Medicine fines Waterman $6000, and makes him perform 20 hours of continuing education. Waterman performed a "dangerous" early amniocentesis before 12 weeks gestation. After two failed attempts at 8 & 9 weeks gestation which caused the patient to begin bleeding, Waterman performed another amniocentesis at 10 weeks. The unnecessary and risky procedures caused the patient to suffer a miscarriage, and she required two D&C procedures to remove the tissue and fetal parts from the uterus. See pages 5-6, and 13-15. -
